Just wanted to share that I grew up listening to The Jimmy Carton Band all of my life. My parents used to go see him play at McVeigh’s (The New Windsor) @ 124 Church St. Toronto. I remember I always had a hard time sleeping so I would go down stairs from bed and my Dad would play “Limerick Your a Lady” And dance with me in his arms untill I fell asleep. My children now also love the Jimmy Carton band, as well as my sisters. My point is, is the Jimmy Carton Band has always and will always hold a special place in my whole family’s heart. Thank you.

I used to go down to the Windsor House in Toronto to see you (even spoke to you once or twice). I have your music on tape and wanted to find it on CD as I only get to Canada once a year now and never there when you are playing. I have loved your music from the first time I heard it. Nothing like good Irish music. What ever the song or the tune, it always lifts one’s spirits. Glad to see you are still playing. Good Luck and all the best for the future.

Just a quick note to tell you how much my family and myself enjoyed your show at the Irish Times last night.
We wish you every sucess in the release of your latest CD “Reprise”. I played it at breakfast today it brings back many memories of concerts in London,Buffalo, Cleveland, with Nellie, Maureen,Eva and Ed Croke.

We as a family were reminising of the many years we spent every night at Caravan when they as youngsters, sat along the stage entralled by your singing. They grew up with Jimmy Carton! It was a great night again last night. For myself it was a real surprise and an honour when you called on me to sing. My sons Danny and Paul had never heard me sing “Dublin In My Tears” so that put the icing on the cake for me. With the backing of Derek on the keyboard and Kevin on the guitar, even I thought it sounded good. Thanks again.

I wish Kathleen and I could have joined you in Newfoundland, as you said there will be other times. Anyway knock ‘em dead as always. Again thanks for the years of music and song.

Best wishes to you and your family,

John & Kathleen O’Neill
